(Mr. H) So--she got me to do the WIP again....because I probably remember more about all this stuff, and I was helming the strip heavily by this point in the run.

This section was probably the first foray into blending the invisible realms with the purely physical.  In case you didn't notice, I was bringing in the forbidden and demonic, which was then counterbalanced by the Christian-oriented triumphant elements toward the final weeks of this giganto-arc.  In the end, the Holy Spirit and Christ prevailed, but at this point I was displaying the utilization of witchcraft, or dark arts and crafts, so many presently weird to get their ways.

Ellie begins with her "Dragon Slave" incantation, heavily lifted from the anime "Slayers".  That result was used to get her on the bench with "Sweet" Kel, where she would change his heart and mind as she obsesses over her baby.  It ends with a statement on modern medicine in advertising.  We ALL know how weird and ridiculous that stuff can be.  Yes.  This was a low-level jab at American culture: a culture gone down a culture-de-sac of bad choices in recent decades.

Toward the end of these four strips, I inserted a modern "Mic'ed Up" moment.  Usually those mics are clean, but I imagine when circumstances like this prevail, vulgarities abound.  Who doesn't hate the officials ruling unfairly?

I love how Ellie's hair always starts out as cinnamon rolls attached to her head

I thought that incantation was familiar. And you're right, there are times when I watch a game and think "Are these refs blind? They get paid off or something?!?!" The details were done quite nicely.
