OK...this....was a really old request. Basically making a parody (or my version) of this really cute pin-up artwork made by Elvgren (I think). However, for the love of god I can't find the original to post as comparison. ;A;

(if you know the artwork, feel free to drop me a link, I'll add it later on :))

I drew this several months ago in my sketchbook. But I felt it's kinda cheesy drawing someone else's artwork, so to speak. (Even though I drew it from memory. But still, not my motif, not my composition...) So I sat on it until now.

However, right now I feel like I'm just on autopilot. drawing more than actually thinking. Kinda sucks but, eh, things need to get done. So thinking of illustrations and sketches is getting tough. I want to deliver but when the head is empty, it's empty. So I'm digging through my sketchbook and using old, unused ideas instead and redoing them in new glory.

Dunno, I thought this one turned out pretty nice. I was trying to give it a bit of a painting style. It's not quite there, like the original vintage pin ups. But using the 'oil brush' setting in CSP for shadings is quite pretty, imo :)

Anyway, hope you like it. Have a nice start into the week ^^

EDIT:

Hah! I found it!!!!

This is the original. apparantly slightly different pose and expression. But as I said, I drew it from memories. But credit where credit's due :3

Very cute and funny, and I really adore the suimsuit style you picked for Sedine here! When it comes to "Gotta draw stuff because requirements" I know the feeling. If you are really struggling for ideas, perhaps it could be a tier perk to suggest things? Still no need to do things that don't click with you (gotta be clear that it's suggestions and not guarantees) but it's a thought.

Thank you :) I actually did something like this a while ago but it felt like hardly anyone was suggesting things. Granted, the audience has grown now, so maybe I should give it another try. Might not a bad idea to hand over the thinking part to those who are the target audience of my art...Maybe I'll do that next month :)

Using some one else's composition is one of the corner stones of art, I see that as a perfectly good point of any inspiration and love modern characters I love done as a kind of homage to the classic styles. This is a great way to see Sedine and would love to see more like this.
