...the face acknowledges you no more' (does that make sense to you? That was some dumb saying back from high school...but it sounds weird translated into English XD)

 Time skip Gabby :D

Earlier this year, someone on GoComics made a comment like 'wait until you find a crazy person who loves you, gabby'. I don't know anymore who wrote that...or why/on which strip (was it any of you? 0_0). But when I read that first, I was wondering how a potential love interest for future Gabby would look like and what kind of a story to build around them....not that we will get into something like that too soon, but still :)

Anyway, the talk came back up a couple weeks ago in the comment section and I thought it might not be a bad idea to at least show you guys what I would have in mind.

I gave away future Gabby's look already a while back. I think of her being a highly intelligent but silent/calm student. Probably a bit of a loner (out of choice) and video game lover with wold hair (which she hardly brushes XD).

Gabby's future (wannabe) lover would be an athletic dude, with colored hair, droopy eyes and....he's a bit of a bully.

He has a heart shaped mole under his left eye but hides this unmanly mark under a dab of make-up (after all, he doesn't want to be bullied and mocked himself ;P)

Face reveal! (he looks a bit like Kittan from Gurren Lagann <3)

Due to circumstance Gabby finds out about his little secret and told him straight forward (like she is ;P) that she thinks he's more unmanly and a coward for being so insecure about such a minor thing.

Hurt in his pride he abandons the make up and ever since then tries to impress her in oder to prove her wrong...

So their relationship would be more of a love-hate relationship...i'd really like to develop that further. Although I'm not sure if I could handle a high school or college drama. There are so many already and the genre is not really my cup of tea ^^"

Bit still...

If he would appear in one of the present arcs, he would look like this:

From Kittan to Crayon Shin Chan....but the bigger question is, can we handle two eyebrow babies? XD

Anyway, thanks for reading. I'm glad to finally get back into proper doodling :)

So is this guy gonna be successful at getting her, after changing himself, or will he wind up like Pepe LePew, constantly persuing his love, but never actually winning over his love?

Probably the later. I kinda dislike her being in a relationship (I mean...she's still my baby ;3;). So I'd probably would keep it as a short story with an open end and the readers have to make up their mind :)

I know I've mentioned this before from the last time you drew them as grown-ups, but I like how you've made Roy's and Char's girls turn out with the hair and eyebrows of one parent and the face of the other. Also, "talk to the hand" did make it over here in the U.S. as a saying in the 1990's. I remember Fran Drescher saying that in the movie "The Beautician and the Beast" with Timothy Dalton. Never knew there was a second half to it, though.

You are so right, although I think I used it more than my kids did. When they started to argue with me, my hand would go up in front of their face. Boy would they get frustrated. It was my way of saying, 'you lost, quit talking.'
