...and we already know that reality won't be that flattering, do we? ;)

As correctly spotted, I did try to draw in Naoko Takeuchi's 'Sailor Moon' style...and it was a lot of fun :D

Although those two are meant to parody Mamoru/Tuxedo Mask and Usagi/Sailor Moon my actual drawing references were Ami Mizuno/Sailor Mercury and Haruka Tenno/Sailor Uranus (with Seiya's ponytail).

Not that it really matters but...I wanted to mention that :P

More about the SM version strip on Saturday, when I post the first WIP of it ^^

The second shot of Sedine in “Manga” form in today’s strip in particular was very clearly modeled after Ami Mizuno. 💫✨🤩

It’s funny, many comic artists start out by imitating an inspiration’s drawing style, then eventually blend/synthesize that person and other person’s styles together into something unique. Looking at Steve “The Dude” Rude, you can see echoes of Alex Toth, Jack Kirby, John Romita, Andrew Loomis, and Russ Manning, for example. [ Back when I sketched a bit - and not that well - everything came out looking kinda-sorta influenced by early Fred Hembeck. ] 🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️💁‍♂️

You People that can draw are amazing. I have trouble with stick people.
