Oh Ellie...so...innocent....

This strip had a few small changes, mostly in expressions. Roy originally looked more surprised in the first panel. But I thought it might be more of his character if he's instead looking at Hubbs, spotting his distress and already plotting to use it against him.

Also Sam was more annoyed at Hubbs in the last panel...which later changed into a rather pitying expression. I have to admit, originally I did intent for Sam to take the part of the 'father-in-law' in the whole HubbsXEllie thing. Because, as someone mentioned it already in the comments (I think it was NewPatriot, wasn't it? 0,0), she was his former crush and he probably has interest in protecting her and shielding her from potential harmful partners....however, I dropped that idea rather early. First of all, he and Ellie never dated and I thought it might sound a bit too possessive of him to butt in into her relationships. Another thing was that he has Sedine. Him shielding another woman, while he is in a relationship, just sounds wrong....like he still has feelings for her and can't give Ellie up to another man...(golly, stop being greedy, Sam! XD)

So instead he's just sitting on the sidelines and watching this train wreck taking place...I guess :P

I also thought it was important that Ellie mentions that this is not her main occupation. I mean, hey, she graduated college and is all by herself. Chances are she still has huge debt to pay off :<

Well, Bea, it turns out most of us thought exactly what you were thinking when you drew this, so if a picture is worth a thousand words, this speaks volumes, and you're an excellent communicator!

Yeah well that was the OldPatriot, this NewPatriot has decided to see it your way. ;) You told me long ago this is not a harem anime. They are some great assets, and everyone knows it except her. XD

That's good to know ^^ I'm always wondering if some of my strips do need a comment or if I should stay away from it and hope the audience figures stuff out. Good to know that a comment from my side is not needed all the time :)
