Day 8: Photography Club Concepts (Patreon)

Here is the concept art for the Photography Club. This one was unique among the clubs; because the Photography Club changes their behavior when they think there is a killer at school, we essentially had to design two separate clubs - the "carefree" version and the "detective mode" version.

The idea of making the club monochrome outside of the "hiding spot" was my idea; it was intended to be a way of making it look visually distinct from the rest of my the clubrooms. I felt that, if we didn't do something like that, then the club would feel too similar in nature to any other club using the default floor/walls/ceiling. (Actually, because I wanted to avoid that so much, only one club - the Art Club - actually uses the default textures.)

Still, the core concepts of the Photography Club - desks being straightened when they get serious, the murder scene mockup in the corner, a spot where school ID photographs are taken - are all present here in the original concept art.
