Day 6: Zen Garden Concepts (Patreon)

One of Yandere Simulator's volunteers drew (On paper! With pencil! In this day and age!) some incredibly detailed concept art of what a Zen Garden for Akademi might look like. She even included detailed information about the exact width, length, and height of every aspect of the tea house, and also multiple views of what the nearby trees and bushes should look like.

Afterwards, she modeled the tea house that she had designed, and sent it to me. I couldn't possibly reject such a well-made model, but there was no place for it at school unless there was a garden-like area somewhere at school...so, to justify the presence of the teahouse at the school, I decided to implement a zen garden, as she had suggested. In fact, I implemented two, to keep the school symmetrical.

Actually making it look identical to her concept art would have been difficult with the limited assets available to me, so the zen garden that got into the game doesn't match her vision very closely. But, perhaps, one day in the future, we'll have budget necessary to make the final game's zen garden look more like her original vision.
