Hello! Recently, I've been thinking a lot about two things:

1. I have a bunch of cool concept art that nobody has ever seen, and I'd like to share it with the people who would be the most interested.

2. I almost never post on my Patreon or offer rewards to my patrons.

...and I felt like perhaps these two problems could be the solution to one another!

I'd like to learn whether or not people would be interested in seeing early previews of upcoming content, and/or exclusive looks at never-before-seen concept art - interested enough to join my Patreon, that is. So, I'm going to gauge public interest by making a few posts here over the next few days.

I'm going to start off by revealing some artwork that will be featured in the next build (being released in 6 days), and explaining the origin/purpose of the artwork:

Before I started developing Yandere Simulator, I was working on a hack-and-slash game about a young woman who wanted to "clean up" the world by executing violent criminals. The premise of this game was similar to the premise of Death Note, a manga about a young man using a supernatural notebook to purge all violent criminals from the world. I decided that my hack-and-slash protagonist would probably be a huge fan of that manga, so I added a piece of trivia to her backstory - she's a fan of a franchise called "Life Note" - an obvious parody of Death Note - and was heavily influenced by it.

I think about that hack-and-slash game on a daily basis; even after all the time that has passed, I still really, really want to develop it, and turn it into a finished game one day!! I've actually put a few small references to it in Yandere Simulator - and one of those references is the presence of "Life Note" manga books that Ayano can collect.

Back in 2015, an artist called Mulberry joined the development team and began producing illustrations for Yandere Simulator. One of the first things she did for me was to draw all of the cover artwork for the collectible manga in the game - the "Cherry Touch" erotic manga, the "Yokai Story" horror manga, and also the mysterious "Life Note" manga.

Mulberry has grown a lot as an artist over the past 7 years, and recently she has been re-illustrating a lot of the oldest artwork she made for the game. She's completely replaced all of the Cherry Touch artwork, and as of today, she replaced the Life Note artwork, as well. I'm absolutely thrilled with the new cover artwork for the Life Note manga, and I really wanted to share the full-resolution artwork with everyone - so I made this post!

Because this artwork is going to be visible to the world in less than 1 week - and because it's not a massive spoiler for upcoming gameplay/story additions - I don't really feel a strong desire to keep it a secret, or any need to put it behind an expensive paywall. So, this artwork is visible to anyone who is donating at least $3 per month on Patreon.

However, some of the other artwork I'd like to show off is much more meaningful - concept artwork for upcoming characters, previews of the content of my upcoming YouTube videos, 3D renders of environments that will be added to the game in the future, etc. I might create a new Patreon tier for posts that reveal the most significant types of upcoming content. What should it be, though? $5? $10? I really haven't decided yet, but I'll almost certainly be posting on Patreon more often in the near future.

Thank you for supporting the development of Yandere Simulator!

P.S. - If you're wondering what that spider monster is, it's the Life Note equivalent of a "Shinigami" from Life Note!
