(Story Focus) The Student Council in Yandere Simulator (Patreon)

Some of the videos I create don't have to do with game development progress. When I create a new video that is more focused on story than gameplay, I usually don't post about it on Patreon. Yesterday's video about the student council was 100% gameplay-focused, and today's video about the student council is 100% story-focused. However, I'm still posting this video to Patreon, because there are a few noteworthy things that are discussed here:
All students in Yandere Simulator are generated from the same "base model", which has a very limited degree of flexibility. As a result, all students in the school feel like clones who are wearing different wigs. I have been disappointed in the lack of variety in faces, animations, and personality among students in Yandere Simulator. For a long time, I have wanted to try taking the base model to its absolute limits and create characters who are unique from other students as possible.
The creation of the student council was largely an experiment to see if I could achieve the following:
1. Unique faces / facial expressions for specific students
2. Unique idle / walk animations for specific students
3. Unique personality / dialogue for specific students
4. Unique uniforms for specific students
(Bonus: More authentic-sounding Japanese names)
To be truthful, everything above has already been accomplished - to a small degree - with earlier students. However, this time, I set my goals much higher...and I'm happy to say that I feel that I struck all of my goals for the student council!
Now that I've developed a system for assigning unique faces/animations/dialogue to specific students, I can design more interesting students in the future, and also update older students to be more interesting. This represents a big step in getting Yandere Simulator closer to meeting my own personal standards of quality, which is why I'm posting a story-focused video here today. I hope that you're as excited about this as I am!
By the way: does it bother you when I upload story-focused content to Patreon? Would you prefer it if I exclusively uploaded content that demonstrates game development progress?
