Vinland Saga and Ranking of Kings are almost over and we must look to the future of what to watch. Continuing with our experiment from last time, we will be doing another poll rather than doing a seasonal anime review. We've picked our favorites from the season and added them to our existing fan suggestions to let YOU decide! As before, this is a multiple-choice poll... so pick all the options you'd like to see and we will take the top TWO whichever score the highest.

Honestly would be quite interesting to see a Die Neue These reaction. I’m curious if either of you have watched the original LotGH or would this be your first experience with the series? The original is one of the greatest space operas ever written, let alone one of the greatest anime. I watched the first couple episodes of the remake and it felt decent, but just never kept up with it. The character and ship designs compared to the original feel like such a downgrade, even if it’s better animated now. So it would be fun to actually watch that alongside you guys and give it a proper chance. Especially because it’s supposed to be even more faithful to the novels (which reminds me to finish collecting the rest of the novels). That all being said, Frieren would be my number one pick. It’s been one of my favorite manga these past few years, this adaptation is flawless, and it’s a great show to mix into your roster as another interesting take on the fantasy genre. It’s a show that really thrives based on your knowledge of a standard fantasy world and adventure. It expects you to already know how every fantasy world works and every adventure goes, so that it can tell a story outside that cliché adventure. It’s beautiful.

Theta: I have not seen any of the original LotGH, though I saw the first 2-3 episodes of Die Neue These, which is what earned it its place on the poll. Griff hasn't seen any of it.

Everything I’ve heard is that the original is still significantly better, but the remake is going to be pretty good no matter what. It’s kinda hard to do poorly when the source material is so good. From the little bit of research I’ve done, there’s this general consensus that the original OVA is a more detailed and slower paced experience, while the remake is much better at hitting key moments of importance and giving them really dynamic directing. The original might have more charm or might spend more time on the subtle moments, while the remake has over 30 years of animation and directorial improvements to make key moments hit harder.
