Hi folks.

Here it is. The first monthly-poll-animation now available for all patrons.

It has 5.1 surround-sound! Would love to hear your feedback. Since it is a bit more work to do, I would like to know, if it is worth it in your opinion. :-)

Please don't share this one till 24.04.2017. - the public release date.

Hope you like.

That's a lot of animations in one scene! I like the lighting, both where the beams fall and all the contrast. It gives a nice hot-cold impression. There better be a roaring fire nearby, considering the weather in Skellige :p The surround sound is nice. Exactly how nice?... hard to tell with a pair of headphones. I like it, I can tell there is some difference, but unless you're going to make use of the positioning of sound sources for story purposes - for instance, someone unexpectedly appearing from behind, or walking across the set - I'm not sure it is worth much extra effort. I haven't really thought it through because I've never had a 5.1 system, but I'm guessing it only really comes into play when there's movement (either of the camera or actors on screen) or at least a crowd, like here; if there are only two or three characters in the same spot, like most of your animations so far, I don't really see a big benefit. I could be wrong, of course!

Hey, thanks for your elaborate feedback. :-) Yes, I totally see your point. Most people will use headphones to watch this. Even those with a 5.1 system. But when cutting the scene, I noticed, that it felt kinda wrong, that the musicans were playing from the front speakers, but you can't see them. After that I added sex sounds from couples behind the camera as well to make the viewer believe, the orgy is way bigger than you see. And in those parts I think 5.1 can be really strong. But as you mentioned, storyscenes will have the the biggest benefits. For example upcoming Forgotten Rituals could profit a lot, since it has some hide and seek in it. And you mentioned, that you are hearing a difference even with stereo-headphones. I kinda noticed that as well. 5.1 converted to stereo seems like to sound more realistic than sounds edited especially for stereo. I will continue to test those things. Still got the hope to approve the atmosphere with 5.1 sound. Feedback as yours helps a lot though. :-)

I don't know anything about computers. So I'll just say its amazing based on what I see. I like the concept of it. It would be nice if Cerys was more involved. How about a Lodge of sorceress orgy in the future.

I tested it with my 5.1 system. Fucking amazing. Then, hooked my pc to a DAC + a headphone amp and a pair of cans: fucking amazing. And the animation, top notch. Congrats, mate.

That comment convinced me. From now on every animation: 5.1 sound! --> Even if only we both will benefit from that. Thanks Ruben!

Based on the short loop, the sound is indeed quite good. Not sure if surround is worth it, but at least stereo is nice and adds quality.

There are plenty of headsets that use the 5.1 sound encoding to create a digital soundscape, including mine in which this sounds amazing.
