Hi patrons,

after finishing my TLoU2-Movie I started to work on my witcher-movies again.

But since I started to work on those bigger projects, I noticed, it is kinda hard to focus on them from time to time. Working on the same setting with the same models for month can be really frustrating. But since I love the result and even more the achivement with creating something big, I definitly won't give that up.

So I was looking for a solution, which would allow me to be more creative and having more variety and I thought about this:

I will animate a 10-15sec loop without storyline etc. every month. On the one hand this gives me and of course you a lot more variation in my work. As well it won't delay my bigger projects too much, since I don't need to work on several camera angles and the additional animations coming along with those camera changes. I don't know if one animation per month is a good value or maybe too much alongside the big projects (which will definitly have  priority during my time spending in SFM), but I would like to try it out.

To get you patrons involved, I will start a monthly poll for those animations. The possible choises show the setting and main female character being involced in the animation. I will only choose settings for I already have an idea, so I won't loose time, with concept-brainstorming.

But enough the words. Let's get started!

Here you can find the April-animation-poll

The poll will end on next Wednesday, 22.03.2017. I hope for your participation and ofcourse I would like to know, what you think about this concept.

Sounds like a good plan to me. Few things are worse for a creative producer than boredom. I mean, starvation is bad, m'kay - but that's what we're for ;) Seriously, have fun with little side projects. I would suggest challenging yourself to try something new or difficult with each one, so they can also be an experiment or a learning experience; then go back to your main productions with some new tools under the belt. Amazing wallpaper, can't wait for the next episode :)

"I don't know if one animation per month is a good value or maybe too much alongside the big projects." It depends if you can trust yourself to regularly produce it every month. I had to advise some of my friends on Patreon about this. Their monthly rewards were taking away too much time from their main projects, because it was too many rewards. I can share with you the advice I gave them. Have fans vote on alteranatives of what you're already planning. Ex: you have an upcoming sex scene with Ciri and Triss, but maybe you're not sure where it should take place, or what position they should use. Fans could vote on that. They get a chance to participate, the main project gets completed, and you're given some variety. But don't consider this idea a replacement to your original one, think of it like as an extra idea if you want to try something different.

Hi Robert, thanks for your detailed feedback. Didn't even thought of the opportunty to try out new things with a monthly animation. But you are right. Lara's and Elizabeth's models for example are really different compared to Witcher-models, so I could definitely learn a lot from them.

As always great feedback from my masterwriter. :-) It will never be an option for me, to force myself into the decision of other. Since animations are a creative process, I need to be confident about every pose or scene. Forced by a poll for example may could destroy my motivation, in case I don't like the result. Of course that doesn't mean, I won't think about any feedback or suggestion. The community has already a big influence on my work, but I will always make the final decision by myself. For example I am pretty sure, I won't ever do an Overwatch-animation, since the game/setting is just not mine. So you probably will never see that option in the polls. It is really helpful to read the feedback from other artists and their rewards. Maybe you are right and it will be too much work. But I will try. :-)

Did anybody else notice those hands behind the throne? ;)
