Status Update

My plan was to be done with the animations and renders at that point. Unfortunately, I did not manage to achieve that:

As you can see, two project files are not yet finished. They contain about 4 minutes of animations that are not yet final.

What kept me?

First of all, the  typical realisation that the last third was not varied enough for me, which is why I added two additional poses. I think that this gives the finale more fire, but of course it also means more work. Fortunately, since I'm sticking to the original rhythm, there's no need for new audio recordings.

The second reason is that I have been preparing for the transition to Blender and have built a new PC (which is only possible thanks to your donations 🤗). Since the software is much more demanding than SFM, I wouldn't have stood a chance with my old hardware. 

The assembly took 4 days and nights, because of course nothing worked as it should...But now the machine runs and even in SFM I have an incredible performance boost.

In the following example I rotate the camera during a live preview with activated light:

On my old machine such a live preview with light was not possible because I would not have made more than three fps.

This actually helps me even more with this project, because now I don't only see glitches after rendering with light, but can already find them in the preview. Of course, I also hope that the render times for the last few minutes will be significantly reduced.
Nevertheless, the release in February will be tight. I'll do my best, but if it's delayed until March, I'll spare you the pledges that month, of course.

That's it for now. I urgently need to get back to my new computer and push it to its limits with all the jiggle. 😋
