Hey Evie, the actress who plays Ellie’s mom is Ashley Johnson and she plays Ellie in the game. “I’ll follow you anywhere you go” I love those scenes between the two of them. They certainly have come a long way since the first episode. The giraffe scene is in the game. I think it’s interesting that Joel and Ellie basically switched roles. He was so chatty and she was quite. I love that Joel admitted to her that he was the one who tried to shoot himself and missed and that she is the one who healed him. He turned into Joel Wick at the idea of Ellie dying, but there is a lot of debate about whether Joel did the right thing and if Ellie had the choice, she would’ve sacrificed herself for the cure, but Joel couldn’t lose her like he lost Sarah. If you want, check out The Making of TLOU. It’s cool to hear from the actors and creators about adapting it from a game and see how they created the look of the infected. I think I might find the game play on YouTube so I can see what happens in the second game.

As bad as the world was in the show all those rival groups nobody would have took the vaccine. Or trusted a rival group to give it to them . 20 years of distrust. Probably wouldn't have allowed it . The fungi mutation is to wide spread . Kind of a lost cuase .

I like that Anna (Ellie’s mom) telling baby Ellie “it’s okay I’ve got you” was a callback to when Joel said that to her at the end of Ep 8. In Ellie’s most vulnerable moments of her life (at birth and then after her intense traumatic experience with David), she is held, rocked and comforted by a parent/parental figure. Anna: “I cut it before I was bit.” Joel: “They’ve stopped looking for a cure.” Parents lying to protect their kids.

With a long hesitated and pained look... "I'm torn a little bit..." followed by a very deep sigh... With that reaction, Evie 100% confirmed... She GOT THE STORY OF TLOU! In the post react commentary Evie hits every beat - 'one's own child vs. potentially all of humanity' 'Joel's selfishness' 'Ellie realizing Joel is LYING, but accepting his account as TRUE because he's her only grounding.' 'Joel trying to convince Ellie that a second purpose can come in life even as Ellie was declaring her life's purpose stems from those she's personally lost.' For me... I don't have the answers for any of the questions posed by TLOU.. All I know is that I can ONLY support a future where Ellie can save the world and LIVE! Any world WITHOUT an Ellie in it, would NOT be good enough to be saved.! THANK YOU, Evie! This was a fantastic series of reactions - well worth the binge!
