Hey Evie, the guy named James who is second in command and who Ellie kept calling “Buddy Boy” is actor Troy Baker. He plays Joel in the game. I love that they are using actors from the game. Marlene, Tommy and now Joel. I’d love for you to watch The making of The Last of Us. It’s pretty interesting hearing from the actors and creators. Yes, when they were talking about Ellie traveling with a man who killed one of their men named Alec, that was when they attacked Joel and Ellie at the University and Joel was stabbed. Like you said during the episode, their men attacked and Joel was fighting back in self defense. If their men had let Joel and Ellie leave on the horse, nobody would’ve died or been hurt. When Ellie was trying to lead the men away from Joel, I think she should’ve gone further in another direction and then shot her gun or something so they’d hear it and follow, but she’d be far away that they wouldn’t have been able to hit the horse and she could have found some place to hide. If she had gone a few neighborhoods away when she distracted them, the men would’ve started to go house to house in the wrong neighborhood and gotten more time to possibly go back, get Joel and ride away in the other direction from those men. She definitely shouldn’t have gotten so close that they were in shooting range. That guy is such a sick fuck!! It was so creepy the way he was touching her. EWW!! All these episodes where Joel was trying to keep Ellie at arms length so he could keep himself from being hurt again and then he calls her “baby girl” like he did with Sarah. I replay that moment over and over again. It’s so strange watching the first episode again after watching all the episodes and seeing Joel so cold towards Ellie when the first started traveling together. As you said, there will be another season. There are 2 parts of the game and what I’ve heard is that S1 is the first game and then S2 will be the second game. But I don’t know what will happen after that.

Loved the juxtaposition between David and Joel here: David, who considers himself a “father” to his group, immediately strips Ellie of her coat and hat and leaves her to freeze in the cage. Joel, who has finally allowed himself to take on his fatherly role and accepts Ellie as his daughter, sees her shivering and immediately bundles her up in his own coat to keep her safe and warm. A very difficult episode to watch, esp if you’re someone who is a survivor of SA. I won’t get Bella’s screams out any time soon-they just broke my heart. Pedro as Joel did an exceptional job too of just calming Ellie down and comforting her-he was so gentle. I think we could all use a hug from Pedro Pascal when we’re upset and scared-he just seems like the kindest, gentlest human. He and Bella’s friendship is so pure and wholesome too-their chemistry is so palpable. They have my whole heart!
