That freaking ending...

What did you think of this episode??

Ugh! Yes! The ending of this episode rips my heart out every time. Dean's face just takes me out. He's looking at his little brother, the boy he raised, the boy he's sacrificed so much for - Sam is the reason he left Sonny's, he's the reason Dean went to HELL - he's the person that Dean would literally do ANYTHING for, sacrifice anything for; and Sam is telling him the feelings are not reciprocated. You can practically see Dean's heart just shatter. I wanna give him so many hugs. 😩 So look, I do understand that Sam is hurt and very upset with what happened with Gadreel, and I do get that. But it bugs me that he's like, "surprised" or angry about the fact that Dean did whatever he had to to save him. Like my dude, this is the same guy who CHOSE HELL rather than let you die. So, letting a seemingly good angel in to stop you from choosing to end your life? How can you be surprised or angry about it? You had a gun to your head, and he did whatever he needed to, in order to take the bullets out. You were willing to die? Well, Dean was absolutely NOT willing to let his son (for all intents and purposes) give up his life. Maybe the gates would have been closed, maybe there would have been a loophole to keep them open. They don't know. But willingly giving up their lives? Again? Imo, it's not fair to ask of them. They've already sacrificed so much, (including Sam sacrificing his life once already, and Dean letting him!) it's not fair to ask them to do it again. Personally, I don't actually believe that Sam wouldn't do the same for Dean if it came down to it. I think he might hesitate more, he might weigh the options more, but in the end I think he'd do whatever he could to save his brother. But he's so hurt here, I think he's lashing out, hurting Dean back. Or maybe he's so mad at Dean right now, he really thinks he wouldn't save him. I don't know, but I think, given a similar situation, Sam would do what he needed to do to save Dean. But that's just my opinion. In case it wasn't already very obvious, 😁 like you, I'm 100% with Dean on this one. I think he made a mistake in keeping Gadreel a secret from Sam for so long. But I mean, even there, he did try to tell him that one time, and Gadreel stopped him. But I agree with what Dean did completely. I think Sam has the right to be upset and angry with Dean, but he didn't need to rip his heart out the way he did. 😞 The MOTW in this episode is interesting, and you're right, I don't think she deserved to die. She was trying, and she hadn't killed anyone. (Or not anyone in a long time at least.) Glad they just sent her back home. This exchange between Maritza and Dean makes me laugh every time: Dean: Then what are you? Maritza: A pishtaco. Dean: *confused face* A fish taco? 😆😆😆 I just love him! As usual, I've rambled. But loving S9 so far, so many more great episodes to go. 😊

I am not a fan of this episode, very skippable for me. And, I am a 100% Dean girl, so I will always come down on his side. I am actually not even a fan of Sam, I know he's needed for the show and I usually love their relationship, but if it were just Dean, I wouldn't mind☺ so anything i say would be very negative against Sam, so I won't put it out there. So I will just say, Jensen is beautiful😁

I wonder if Sam will be put in the same kind of situation eventually... with 6 seasons left he just might🤔 I could see us get to a point where it's DEAN who is just about ready to give up and then there are choices to be made.. I don't know but I wish he could have been in Dean's shoes you know :(

Evie, you are right that the brothers have different perspectives with Dean being taught to protect Sam no matter what and Sam was a baby when Mary died, so he doesn’t have any memories of what it was like to be a normal family and only knows growing up in the life. The other thing that we all know is that Dean doesn’t want to be alone. He couldn’t let Sam stay dead at the end of S2, but Sam has been alone and can move on if something should happen to Dean. I remember when Sam was talking to Death about being ready to die, but Dean couldn’t let that happen, but I do think that if it was Dean who was dying and telling Death that he was ready, Sam would have honored Dean’s choice even if he didn’t want it to happen and Sam would’ve moved on like when Dean was in purgatory or he would hunt on his own.
