Yo btw my coffee tasted like literal garbage🤢I've been dealing with this side effect for a few days now and mostly I don't taste very much of anything but coffee tastes SO BAD idk why.. I kept drinking it because I was so tired you can kinda see it everytime I take a sip I just look down lol... I just hope it doesn't last too long, I need my coffee man........

Connections to season one. Do you remember when Elena was trying to get news from the network archive, and incident happened in June 1953 at the Salvatore boarding house where she saw Stefan in the past. They were reporting his uncle Joseph death. So that is what happen, their “uncle” sold them for money to the Augustine Society as vampires, also probably to get rid of them once and for good to get the entire Salvatore properties and fortune to his name. So he wrote to both of them to come home. Damon answered and arrived first. Joseph reveined him and he got captured but before that he managed to kill his uncle. Stefan fortunately arrived late but he found the body of his uncle and tough Damon killed him for no reason and then disappeared. Stefan never knew that Damon was captured and tortured for 5 years and didn’t bother to search for his brother either. Also you’ve seen the reason why Damon shut his humanity off and kept it off for almost 60 years because there was nobody to help him and no motivation to switch it back on, until he came back to Mystic Falls in time to get Katherine back and with that he had the chance to spend time with his brother get to know everybody, get involved in Elena’s life and circle of friends and gradually he started to feel again and came back to full humanity on. But for the few episode of the first season he had his humanity off and that is the reason why. Now about Damon killing the Whitmore family members. He was tortured for 5 years; they were taking pieces off his body, the fact that he is a vampire and heals quick it doesn’t means that they don’t feel pain, plus they were weakened which means they felt pain even more powerfully. Damon was carried on a revenge, that was a sport of pact of honour to his friends Enzo, he thought he died. The family is innocent as well because the research was still founded by the family, carried on after Damon escape, Enzo was kept captive and they kept experimenting on him since. So I understand that Elena is a bit shocked that Damon, kept killing the Whitmore family members still but to be honest on this I can understand Damon wanting to revenge that kind of cruelty for himself and or his friend. Katherine is a very smart lady, she lived for over 500 years and her surviving skills are excelled, that alone would give you a great insight on how to get over traumas and added to the fact that Katherine a bit like Elena can read people quite well, gave her key to the bottom line of Stefan problem. Also knowing Stefan well was an added advantage. Strangely enough there is a much bigger chemistry between Katherine and Stefan than ever was with Elena, and it is weird considering that is the same actress, kudos to Nina. That scene was hot, and the music is always so perfect. I don’t think Caroline at this point has realise she might have feelings for Stefan and Stefan is totally oblivious to any possibility in that direction, he is still dealing with accepting the reality of things. Elena is in love with Damon and Damon is madly in love with Elena and no matter how their situation will develop in the future, he is out of the picture for good, Elena has moved on with the part of her life that involved Stefan and has turned the page. He should too.

We start to see the circular structure of this show. Every loose ends, let unexplained and every foreshadow, or every psychological behaviour of the two bothers will be little by little explained. With the last seasons, this one included we will get the close full circle started in season one, we will get by the last episode of season 8 all the information we need at the point that if we want to start to re-watch the show, we will know from the first episode, why Stefan and Damon behave the way they do and the significance, the meaning and the motivations of every gesture and every word they say and that can change the characters prospective entirely. That is why I love this show, it is pretty unique.

Now that you mention it I do remember!! It just makes me sooo excited to rewatch it after! I love that it comes around like that and is done so nicely :)

Remember in season they talked about stefan uncle dying which was Joseph salvatore and in season four lexi found damon in 1977 and she said he flip the switch and he said the "the 50s bored me" he was basically talking about what went down from 1953 to 1958
