13 Nights: The Cursed Mask (Patreon)

As the rampage of the cursed necklace continued, one of the last remaining heroes steps up and uses the cursed mask. What looks like a normal domino masks grants the wearer not only a costume of their greatest fantasies, but also makes them that costume. powers and all. Our hero becomes a full blow superhero!

But as we learned by now, even if the cursed objects grant you power, there is always a price. Because while our hero is able to live out his dream of becoming a powerful superhero who defeats the bad guy, in this story, the hero also perishes. 

As the wearer of the cursed necklace turns to gold, the necklace takes over and he grabs our superhero. Gold begins to spread up the hero's legs, penetrating through costume, through flesh and bone. 

"I can't move!" out hero cries.

"Your dream may be to become a hero, but you've forgotten. All dreams can become nightmares." As hellfire burns through the villain's body, the cursed mask infects our poor hero. His costume melts away, fading from existence. With one final death rattle, a golden statue is all that's left. 

Or at first. Before the eyes of the remaining two time travelers, their friend began to shrink. Smaller and smaller until a small plastic action figure fell to the floor, a solemn reminder of a dream come true and its twisted consequences.
