Just Touching Base (Patreon)

Greetings, hope everyone had a good week. I know I did! 🤭 Now that the content for the month is out I have a few things to say:

Firstly, big thanks to everyone who stuck around through the radio silence, to new patrons, to return customers and to the familiar faces who pledged to see the art this month. I see all of you! 🙏

I still have a lot of stuff to grind before I can be anywhere close to where I want to be, but this has been a fantastic start to my year considering how far back I was set last year. That being said, I'm still being very cautious about not over extending myself. I have to take things slow enough in order to get anything done at all. Next month's content will not be as extensive as this month's but I already have some stuff in the works.

I do indeed have some of those YCHs in progress. The painted backgrounds for these are coming out really nice so far, so I'm considering releasing them in high res and their time-lapses to the $5 and $3 tiers respectively. (They should all be wallpaper friendly, I have one in portrait and one in landscape already).

I don't want the YCHs to be the main attraction next month because they're ultimately commission work BUT I really need some cash, like soon, so I have to focus on these especially because I'm trying to step up my background work to keep my commission prices competitive.

So what does that mean for other content next month? I have one thing I definitely want to do: a proper follow up to the theme poll from June. I can't justify doing polls regularly unless patronage grows considerably but I at least have to make good on this one. There is a sketch that I have been picking away at that I will be using for this.

I have loads and loads of ideas for more casual OC oriented stuff but that is really up in the air as I should be drawing such things between big illustrations according to my whim (for my sanity, you see). So I have no further comment on that. I do have thoughts on future comic work however, but that's for another post.

I like the idea of doing a weekly text update on a Mondays. I'll try to make it a habit. For now I will be available or feedback & suggestions either here or on Twitter, and I'll be working in the background, streaming when I can.
