Filia vs Fukua + Commission Price Changes (Patreon)

Also, I've been considering this for a while, but in the future I plan to increase the prices of my commissions from £1.25 per 100 words to £1.50 per 100 words. These changes will take place starting in December 2021, so anyone with a current commission booked in won't be affected. First time commissions will also be increasing from £1 per 100 words to £1.25 per 100 words.

I'm sorry if this is a disappointment for some people, but in order to keep writing as my main source of income, I've decided to bite the bullet and go for it. I started writing as a side gig years back, but during the pandemic I lost my main job and ended up basically writing as a way to keep myself steady while waiting for the pandemic to settle down.

The pandemic is certainly better than it was in the UK, not that it's totally gone of course, but over the last year the number of people asking me for commissions has gone up and up, and honestly I want to see if it's possible for me to keep making a living doing something I love rather than stuffing myself back into the office. Plus, I live with someone who suffers from COPD, and thus is even more vulnerable to Covid than regular people. I'm double vaxxed of course, but even the slightest threat of getting it is enough to keep me concerned as winter rolls in. 

I'm sorry if this means that anyone looking to commission me is going to struggle doing so now. Most of my commissions are upwards of 10K words lately, so this may mean the average word count goes down a bit, I understand. But this is a big step for me being able to continue doing something I enjoy and still be able to support myself. Writing is one of the few things I'm genuinely passionate about nowadays, and I want to try making it something I can live off, even if it means making some rather scary changes in order to do so.

Alright, that's all the big info dumping from me for now. As I said, anyone who I'm currently talking about getting a commission with, you don't need to worry. The price increase won't affect any works in progress, even if by some horrible twist of fate they end up going into December.
