This one is very different for those who have only seen SRK playing roles which cater to the mass audience because it was a much more author-back role, and he did a brilliant job. The most iconic scenes would definitely the moment in the train, when he buys water from the boy despite him being an NRI and someone who was at first conscious about going back to India and that too in a village. Secondly, loved how Mohan said that he doesn't believe India is the greatest country, but it is the capability if only people would see themselves as human beings and not based on other human made factors like caste and so on. Gita aka Gayatri's first film and only film is shocking because I think if she had chosen to continue acting, she would have gained much more fame but nonetheless she's added a gem this being her only credit film. I think being an NRI, it was easy to connect with Mohan. We all complaint about how things can be improved because no country is perfect but maybe because we have more comfort and the privilege of living a better quality of life, it's difficult sometimes for many to understand the issues at the root level. Going back home can definitely open your eyes furthermore but it's hard to raise issues because people don't want to listen to different views many times. So glad, in that sense we saw all different sides. I was really glad Mohan didn't decide to stay back at first. It would seem very unreal for him to give up the life he must have built for himself in America and just giving it up because he realised he could be useful back home. I don't think it can be easy or practical decision but maybe if it is someone like Mohan who truly feels he has the skills and talent to move back and make the most out of it, why not as long it's a choice.
