oh no... on page 11 panel 3, piawii’s name is spelled as paiwii...

What an awesome world and story! It was wonderfully original--a true spec zoo comic--but I also got some subtle Master and Commander vibes. Just me?

One question: when the Avians on the airsled spread their wings, are they contributing lift, are they steering the sled, or something else?

I havent read master and commander, so the resemblance if any is unintentional! They are both "historical" stories with a nautical setting, though... 🤔

They are generating a small amount of lift (kind of turning the wing of the craft into a biplane wing) But more importantly it's a relatively passive way to take their weight off the wing and make the whole craft less heavy than it would be if they were just riding it.

I was thinking of the movie with Russell Crowe actually, my bad! Anyway, I heavily recommend it--there's a scene where they stop off at the Galapagos and collect lizards.
