Terranaut pg 43-44 rewrite (Patreon)

“Jay where are the comics.” Great question. I am officially parted with my day job and coercing myself back into the habit of drawing instead of lying around miserably waiting to clock in again.

I’m starting with a scene that was seriously bugging me at the start of the flashback sequence. It wasn’t a terribly exciting introduction to underwater scud life, and it was a pretty flat arguement. I wanted to portray the main characters living together and enjoying each others company so that the following scene has more emotional impact.

I did it in pencil because for some reason my brain wasn’t letting me do composition planning on the computer. I’ll do clean digital versions now that I have these thumbnails.

The conversational dialog is nearly identical to the original scene, but the vibe is way different. Chkbrr and Rzzt-tt are making breakfast together and the tone is supposed to be bantering and sisterly ribbing. Plus, i got to design breakfast appliances. Much better than having them stand in a random city alley like figurines on a game board.
