Blue dragons like to nest in and around rocks, and unlike gold dragons they prefer to live with only their partner and young kids. However, they are not usually territorial about local feeding grounds and will frequently hunt and scavenge in multi-family groups. In times of scarcity, they will defend reliable foraging areas from other dragons.

Of the four species of dragons, blue dragons have perhaps the most intense trading relationship with gnomes. Interaction is inevitable because of high population density of gnomes along waterways, where the blue dragons live, and food is usually plentiful enough that blue dragons don't usually benefit from viewing the highly defensive little primates as a food resource. Unlike their secretive green cousins, blues will often approach villages looking to trade found treasures and disliked foods for gnome trinkets and favorite foods.
