Things aren't perfect, but they're better than they were before.

And..... that's it! It's 10 pages below my estimate but like, the story's finished, so no point in making more. I'll actually be trying to keep it this length through the editing process, because multiples of four are very convenient for booklet printing.

I am just a bit lost at the end. Maybe because I lack the cultural context, or missed something at the beginning? So, after they land, what exactly is happening and more importantly, why?

Vrazii is repairing the roof of a building using the the metal they purchased from the mainland. Since the rainy season is coming, it’s important that the housing on their island is ready to withstand storms. Some of the dialog establishing this point was a little wobbly, and hopefully the wrinkles will get ironed out in editing. If there’s anything else confusing or I misinterpreted your question let me know, since im currently editing and proofreading!
