Kim and Jimmy have been together for many years already. BCS storyline begins in 2002, with flashbacks that go back to 1993 regarding their relationship.

They aren't together together at least at the start of the show. They may have been during the flashbacks but in season 1 jimmy is going on dates and hooking up with other people. They are clearly still close but whatever relationship they have during season 1 isn't like a serious one.

They definitely have a pre-existing relationship but during season 1 it wasn't like an official serious thing. Maybe more friends with benefits or on and off sort of thing.

Yes, Chuck is a scumbag with deep personal issues but he does know his brother better than anyone else and is right about everything he says to and about him. Because as much as you want to be rooting for "Jimmy" in this brotherly relationship, we all know who Saul is.

I've never noticed that hummingbird in episode 1. That's a pretty lucky take. Edit: There's also quite a lot of miscommunications between Kim and Jimmy. He's obviously not stoked, but she thought he was speechless. Also, I'm wondering if the 2nd best cup thing makes him think about Chuck and not Kim herself.

Jimmy's drunken one night stand with the skank who thought he was Kevin Costner is the only hookup. I do find it interesting though that some try to minimize the strength and longevity of Kim and Jimmy's relationship.

I'm noticing so many things now thanks to your commentaries! In the shots where Jimmy first goes to Davis and Main he's shot to look so small. He's obviously much shorter than Clifford Main but the framing really emphasises it. And even in the rest of the shots, he looks more like an ordinary height, small compared to the offices.

Another bottom-of-the-iceberg fact: Daniel Wormald (Lester) is the "Danny" that owns the Laser Tag shop in Breaking Bad. Remember when Skyler said she'd be the car wash's "Danny?" This isn't a spoiler. Producers confirmed they intended to write it into the story but the actor had scheduling conflicts.
