Yours truly, Johnny Dollar

The Three Storms costume design (and goofy weapons in their first scene) are a nod to the The Bentenrai Brothers in Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart Across the River Styx. That film is much less Scooby-doo and much more grindhouse of course.

Does this movie make anyone else want to watch The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the Eighth Dimension? Just curious

It's all in the reflexes.

Great review. Just rewatched that a few months ago. So funny and over the top.

Also loved how you did not know John Carpets directed it. You need to watch the first movie with Kurt Russell and John Carpenter. It is even and better and a get location, NYC as a prison, Escape From NEw York. Even better is the story about where they really filmed most of it in St Louis after afire destroyed part of the city.

Tetley

And with one of the coolest opening credits sequences ever.

It wasn't until I started watching your reaction that I realized I had a completely different movie in mind when I saw this on the list. For some reason I'd had this confused with "Brain Smasher... A Love Story" - either way, I'm excited

That’s why I love going in as blind as I can! That was so awesome seeing his name pop up. Genuinely made the experience more enjoyable haha

Not only was Raiden from Mortal Kombat based on the lighting storm character from BTILC but the villain Tsang Sung was also inspired by Lo-Pan.
