Hi can you react to freedom writers?

I think one of the most fascinating aspects about this movie is how the mind is portrayed, if you hadnt caught it by now its pretty much confirmed that most everything is in jakes head. This is supported by how many times he changes jesse buckleys charachters name and even the subtitles classifies her as "the woman." Ive watched this a few times since kaufman is my favorite screenwritter so i check out everything he does, but the way this movie blends together the stream of consciousness thought strings that can bounce around and become non linear , how your thoughts can trap you in the past when your living in an undesirable future (Jake as a janitor) and how you can escape into your head to pass time in an undesirable present (both jake and woman during the car and family scenes) and how the past can infiltrate your mind even at the end of your life, I think i caught on to the fact this time around that maybe jake is also experiencing dementia since his dad had it. I also love how jesse buckleys charachter is portrayed, the terror in her charachter is rooted in the fact that she dosent even exist, she only exists in jakes head therefore is only allowed to live at jakes will, a mans will which is probably the last thing a woman wants to be, when the thought dies she dies and she has 0 control over the world shes experiencing. She has no possesions no family no identity and no life. Jake knows this and feels GUILTY. thats the craziest part to me. He identifies with his problematic tendencies, hes aware of the way women are treated in the world its so obvious to him, much like other things that his family gets wrong which embarrases him. no matter what though he cant help but commodifiy them, i think there are some hints that he might be a pedophile, i think its barely touched on but he wouldnt follow that train of thought anyways because he sees himself as pathetic, he hates himself, every time jesse brings up death or ending things between them they magically change location and show up to where theyve been driving all this time, because no matter what he does as long as he stays inside his head he eventually thinks about killing himself, or the people who dont care about him, ostracized him, or simply dont notice him. So he has to keep reinventing this same fantasy with new women (hence all the cups in the garbage at the school) but every time each road leads back to the same place. charlie has directed synecdoche new york, written adaptation and eternal sunshine and somehow cant stop making masterpieces. Love this film thanks for giving me an excuse to jump back in james your reaction was priceless
