Trying something new here. Want to give a poll that is a little more specific with the you guys! Really felt the commentary sharpen because of that too. Want this to involve the production design or locations that are shown in films, and why they hold importance! From any decade, any sub-genre of films, list TWO FILMS you feel I need to see! Even the obscure, weird wacky ones you tell nobody lmfao.

Feel free to list why you chose your options too. (no spoilers, duh)

EXAMPLE: "The Thing" and its use of Antartica. Isolated, cold, and also adds an element towards the filmmaking that I feel adds to the story and aesthetic of the film.

Night King01

Im a little late but Ronin 1998, great use of paris and nice france as locations for some of the best car chases on film and a History of Violence 2005, just the isolated small town nature of the film and the character running away from his past

Bert Taverner

I keep missing these, but since I just saw the Animal House reaction, I'll just recommend American Graffiti (1973) because it is a coming-of-age high school comedy that also took place in 1962 and has great grainy nighttime on-location street scenes. George Lucas of later Star Wars fame directed it after Warner Bros backed out on him when he tried to do Apocalypse Now (yeah...that sat for a few years before Francis Ford Coppola took the helm of it).

Locke (2013) Tom Hardy is basically the only character that we see. The film is shot entirely in a car. The singular and simple location is anchored by the intense performance of Hardy, and it is a compelling story of a man on the brink of professional and marital suicide.
