Hi James. To answer your question about whether or not Christian Bale came known after his performance in American Psycho, not really, he was known many years before that, but it actually sparked a comeback. Christian was one of the best child actors in Hollywood. He started off his career in a war film called Empire of the Sun which he was the lead actor and the film was directed by Steven Speilberg. The he got the lead role in a Disney musical called Newsies (which that film gave him a cult following of fans; great guilty pleasure film worth watching; and underrated soundtrack), and a few years later had an awesome supporting role in the Oscar contender Little Women, but he wanted out of contract with the Disney corporation so he did the animated voice roles for Disney to try and get out of his contract as soon as possible. By the time that was done, Hollywood forgot about him as a leading actor until he won the audition for American Psycho. Then he got the lead role in the dragon apocalyptic blockbuster Reign of Fire (Starring Christian Bale, Matthew McConaughey, and Gerard Butler; actually would be a perfect film to watch during Holloween Season) and then got the lead role in the Machinist. Then got the lead role in Batman Begins which cemented his status as a leading actor for years to come.

In this house, we are mad grateful for his work in Velvet Goldmine and hope he gets back to that kind of work instead of film bro stuff.

I didn't realize James was funny but I've been laughing out loud at these recent posts. "Eatin' in the rain and thinkin' its ok" almost made me drop my groceries.😆
