The pacing is very odd. It starts off super slow but kinda exponentially ramps up starting at episode 3. It probably could’ve benefited from one more episode. But it’s a very lightweight series. It mostly just expands on characters and sets them in their places to be picked up in the future, but it does that with a lot of really interesting characters. LOVE the last two episodes.

Also the opening credits and font of the title are a direct reference to the Matt Fraction and David Aja run of Hawkeye with Clint and Kate. Again, HIGHLY recommended lol

What you are missing is Florence Pugh showing up. Florence Pugh plays not just any Black Widow, but she’s Natasha’s sister, Yelena. The end credit scene of the Black Widow film set up Florence Pugh for Hawkeye showed Val (Julia Louise-Dreyfus) from Falcon and Winter Solider showing up again and gave Yelena a job to take out Hawkeye. She convinced her that there is a possibility that Clint took out Natasha.

By the way, funny that you should mentioned that Daredevil and Echo (Maya) would complete each other. In the comics they had a romantic relationship.

Regarding episode 3: This show is like Boba Fett... you can REALLY tell when there's a different director. Not to say Rhys Thomas was bad by any means, just that Bert and Bertie was able to deliver on action and the emotional elements seamlessly. Like you said, the first couple episodes are like set up. I sure hope we get to see Kate grow and develop as a person and hero. She is learning from the best! Also - being an avenger means nothing! Sam Wilson couldn't even get a loan :(

By episode 4 I was really into the show. I love getting to know Clint more and seeing why he doesn't see himself as an inspiration like Kate does. James - I don't know if you've seen the Black Widow film (based on Cody's comment above I'm guessing maybe not?). If you haven't I would recommend watching it, even if on your own, before getting into episode 5 and 6. It will help with some of the story they will tell when you watch the final 2 episodes :)
