I like this one too. If you want to see another good high school film centered around an individual student, check out Finding Forrester starring Sean Connery (one of his last films), Rob Brown, Anna Paquin, and F. Murray Abraham. Very underrated film and from the Director of Good Will Hunting.

After seeing this reaction I feel you might like The Lovely Bones! Sad and disturbing movie but in my opinion the storytelling is good, also based on a book

If you're a fan of Ezra Miller, another good movie he's in is We Need to Talk About Kevin. It's a pretty intense drama though about some very tough issues. Not a movie I would personally watch a second time, but one I'd definitely recommend watching at least once.
