Vote on what I should watch and react to next! This Poll will end most likely THURSDAY and I'll choose the TOP 2 to react to next week on Monday and Wednesday!

No worries, I plan on actually prolonging these recommendations so don't trip if you don't see your selection on here first! :)

Let's get Paris, Texas up there guys

nick black

definitely excited to see rec, hopefully it gets chosen!!

Jansson

Alrighty folks let’s pick RAN and show Kurosawa the love he deserves. I do also really like the king, it’s a nice retelling of Shakespeare’s Henry V. It does take its own creative liberties but I feel it works with this film, it’s a really fun watch with excellent performances. Also Pairs, Texas will always have a special place in my heart and I think that should be watched as well.

Mister Lou

hells yeah! I hope Spotlight wins!

WhatRaySay

True Lies is a blast of a 90s action flick, classic Arnold one-liners galore. Highly recommend it for a fun reaction, it's the kind of movie you throw in the rotation when you're in the mood for a classic action blockbuster full of explosions and stunts and laughs

Spotlight is a fine piece of film making. Such a thoughtful yet engaging way of handling a tough subject.

Nick Sneddon

Couldn't have put it better myself, some of the stunts are just jawdropping

Underwater Sunlight (Eddy)

"The Road to Perdition" and "Spotlight" are really great movies. It's so sad that "Spotlight" is based on a true story.

Jansson

You are correct it is! I should have worded my paragraph better but the king is movie that’s based on Shakespeare my bad!

Sonia Deepak

I hope the English Patient makes it back to the poll at this point. It might not win the polls against more recent and popular films but it is a beautifully told story. I’m kinda torn between all the good ones on this list though. Ran, Road to Perdition or True Lies?! Gahhh decisions!

WhatRaySay

This might be too complicated or tedious of an idea, but I'd like to toss it out there anyway... Would it maybe be worth doing a monthly/quarterly poll for certain genres? Like a "comedy", "90s action", "rom-com", etc., kind of approach? So many great films out there, obviously, and I think it might be cool to take, for example, a "best action flicks from the 90s" list, cross out the ones you've seen, and throw the rest on a poll. Maybe food for thought anyway, if it wouldn't be too labor intensive. Side note - I'd be happy to gather up those lists so you don't accidentally catch any spoilers, if it's something you'd be interested in. I could grab a consensus "top 20 epic dramas of the 90s" or whatever genre is in the rotation. Keep up the great work dude!

Ken

How long's the poor Handmaiden gonna have to haunt the polls before it gets a Thursday slot, lol. It's cool to see Hard Boiled on here. I've been thinking James might like some Hong Kong action.

Anonymous

James since no one will elect a Takashi Miike film in your poll, just take a Thursday night when you are not doing anything and watch Audition (makes Fatal Attraction look like a kids movie) and then Ichi the Killer (a Japanese mob film unlike any other). And forgo the voting process. You can thank me later.

Spotlight for the win

sean smith

Bill Paxton is so great in True Lies. Haven't seen it in a bit, hope it wins.

Spotlight is a great movie, but personally I think it’s pretty overrated for how people talk about it

Ken

90s action movies have no trouble winning polls as it is. But, say, Japanese and Korean films could probably use their own spaces

Jansson

This is how I feel about Tarkovsky and Kurosawa films, they will never be picked but I honestly think James should just pick them for the Thursday slot.

Anonymous

In what way? I haven't seen too much unwarranted praise for it. It's not a masterpiece, but the writing and acting is top tier imo.

Mitchy D

Where’s Climax?!?!?!

Brett Coster

My 3 votes: 1. Ran (some Kurosawa is sorely needed) 2. True Lies (cos...) 3. The King (Joel Edgerton's Falstaff is a great Shakesperean character(

Matt

Paris Texas is one of my all time favorites and I didn't think many people knew it, happy its getting votes on here

Matt

Before Midnight next Thursday I hope

Seeing Spotlight on this poll reminds me - I would love to see you react to some of Tom McCarthy’s older (well, slightly older) films: The Station Agent, The Visitor, and Win Win. Those are all unusual and understated and beautiful. He used to have this recurring theme of family-is-the-people-you-choose.

I believe Spotlight can pull ahead, absolute fantastic writing and acting in the film. Fingers crossed

I want to see James brain melt at RAN

Anonymous

Let’s get the King near the top!

Bd Blake

That poor RAN. Its so good and popular but just barely hanging in there week after week. At this point its like "Either watch it or put it out of its misery" That said Spotlight should be a clear winner. You know what, put The Wire on things to react to while your at it.

Bd Blake

From the same people that brought you The Wire, the best TV drama ever crafted.

Hey. I'm a fan of your page and like how you know theater and it's importance when it first impacts people when they first watch it.

Try watching the revenant or dances with wolves. Both are truly great films
