After this maybe the Before Trilogy can be a good option. An exploration of two characters and their relationship over 3 film, Before Sunrise, Before Sunset and Before Midnight

Thank you for reacting to this. Aside from the beautiful cinematography, Elio's relationship with his parents, and specifically the father's monologue towards the end, makes your heart swell. As for Oliver and Elio's relationship, you have to remember that back in the 80s, it wasn't socially acceptable or even safe in many places for two men (or two women) to be out and openly in a relationship. This makes Elio's parents even more amazing than they already seem to modern audiences.
