The Dark Saber is a lightsaber that is held by the ruler of the Mandalorians. Boka Tan was the previous owner of it and wants it back. This lore was set up in the animated series. The reason why the want Yoda’s blood is to bring Emperor Palpatine back to life which was done in the new recent trilogy. The thing in the Test tube in episode was their first attempt at creating Snoke from the new trilogy.
