I'm pretty sure Tombstone will win this week, which is fine the movie is great, but I absolutely adore My Cousin Vinny. The humor hits well, Joe Pesci and Marisa Tomei are incredible, and it's just a fun courtroom drama.

i truly believe american beauty is something you will love and right up your alley! very artistic, beautiful cinematography and the score is STUNNING! also the performances all round are great too so hopefully the time has come for american beauty to win otherwise perhaps watch it on a thursday if it’s one you’re really interested in watching 😊🌹

Tombstone is a classic and one of the best "modern" westerns out there. Other things it has going for it are the interesting directorial history of the movie in that one director was leave and the second director was really rumored to be more of a co-directorship between George Cosmatos and the star Kurt Russell. It was a twin movie having come just months before Wyatt Earp with another amazing cast. Tombstone is also a great example of walking the thin line of creating historic fiction that doesn't follow exact history but use it find characters, setting, and plot for the film mackers to explore and tell their own story.

It’s slow and quiet, but I still hope to see a reaction to In the Mood for Love one day. It has some of the most beautiful cinematography I’ve ever seen.

You mentioned Roger Deakins is your favourite cinematographer. The Assassination of Jesse James is his best work, IMO. And yes, that includes Blade Runner 2049.
