Hello hello!  Here is the time-lapse speedpaint🖌️ with music for : Artemis 

A little about the process: 

I had so much fun with this piece and the way it is framed is definitely art nouveau inspired.  But it didn't necessarily start out that way.  You'll notice in the timelapse that there isn't any framing in the sketch, and I start out by focusing solely on the character.  It's only after I have drawn her that I start trying to think of how to do the background. 

 Since she is the goddess of the moon, I started with, you guessed it!  a moon!  It felt like such a graphical design element that it naturally led me into exploring other graphic sort of framing options and referencing art nouveau.

I started out with a thin rectangle under the moon but it didn't feel like enough, so I added on the 2 framing thin rectangles, but even those didn't feel like enough as the top of the canvas felt so blank on the outside of the moon.  But I didn't add the top frame until near the end.  

I hope you guys like her!  I'm curious, do any of you happen to know of or have used any print suppliers who print TAROT size prints or cards?  Preferably based in Europe.  I got ideas!  Haha!

And apologies if things have been a little bit quiet here over the last couple days!  I'm trying to find the balance of juggling everything (as always! lol), and being kinder to myself to not burn out.  It is quite the struggle, as I'm sure many of you have experienced.  
This piece took me a while , and then right after finishing it I was jumping in to give a presentation for my book publisher (the book will be publishing in spring of 2024!  Ahh!  So excited for you guys to finally learn about what it is I've been working on! 

Anyhoo,  I'm starting work on the upcoming patreon tutorial this weekend and it's gonna be on rendering!  The character will have a sword and armor, so we'll also get to touch on some metal rendering!  I'm super excited about the piece!  I think this month's art pack is going to turn out really nice with some stoic but fierce ladies!

I'm rambling a bit, so I'll drop off for now but will be back soon with the Scotland blog!  So we'll speak again soon!
