Sól, the goddess of the sun, embodies its warmth and light. She rides her gleaming chariot across the heavens, leaving in her wake illumination and warmth. She symbolizes both vitality and the unceasing march of time. Yet, her destiny is intertwined with the prophesied Ragnarök, when she shall be confronted by her shadowy pursuer, the wolf, Sköll, heralding the cataclysmic end.

As promised, a bright artwork featuring a goddess of sun herself!  ☀️

This wasn't intended at the time but with summer winding to a close in the northern hemisphere, I can't help but feel like she is waving goodbye in this artwork, especially for those of us who live in the very far north where our days get much much shorter in the winter months!  lol  But I suppose she could also be waving hello to those of you who are in the southern hemisphere!!

Now that I've drawn the goddess of the sun that probably means I ought to draw her brother, Máni, the god of the moon.  I can already imagine such a good contrast between them!
