On a cold Saturnalia night, Persephone, Queen of the Underworld finds the missing King.

EDIT: I adjusted the colors a bit.  I guess I just can't bear TOO much desaturation.  lol  The desaturated versions are still available to download at the bottom of the post.

Well this one has been a long time coming.  I have been wanting to draw my version of Hades and Persephone for a long time and FINALLY got to it.  And why not make it a little seasonal by adding some festive colors and snow?  I know the Roman seasonal holiday is Saturnalia, so that's what I went with in the little description, but I'm not sure what the Greek version is.

I also picked up the Dark Wood Tarot deck and have been obsessing over both Abigail Larson and Irene Horrors' gothic sort of style so I decided to try experimenting a bit with some aspects of the style that I like.

So this one has thinner then normal BLACK lineart (I feel so devious using pure black!), lower saturation and lower contrast.  The thin style of lineart definitely takes longer to do BUT, without too the really sculpted shading the coloring process is faster, which is really nice, since it's usually that part of the process that drags on WAY too long for my standard workflow.

Anyhoo, I hope you like them!  Are you interested in seeing more mythology couples?  Or maybe even this version of Hades and Persephone in another scene?  :D

Just...wow... It's definitely YOURS but I can see the elements of Irene's work that inspired. I follow her as well. As for another scene, I'm good with whatever. I know, I know, not helping...um, how about something spicy but not too, like the start of robes being removed but not showing anything? It's all in their expressions etc.
