✨From across the expanse of ballroom floor, where glittering fairy nobility twirl through their dance, steps a new mysterious guest.  You notice her step lightly to the edge of the ballroom, her midnight skirts fluttering around her.  Her silken hair is twirled up into a style that make it appear as if she has two horns crowning her head.
As if feeling your gaze, she glances your direction making eye contact.  It is then that you notice the eerie crimson hue of her eyes, made even more striking by the dark shimmering eye makeup framing them.
You have started moving in her direction without even noticing, but you don't mind. You must know who this mysterious princess of night is.

EDIT:  After letting my mind stew on this one for a couple days I came back and made some minor adjustments to the background.   (thanks for the comment mentioning it btw!)  I had tried a few things with it but decided some simple gradients with cutouts felt best to me.  I hope you like it!   The lineart only bg is also still included for those that like that version.

Hello hello!  Here is this nouveau inspired artwork that I started for fun .  I absolutely love nouveau style but kind of have to force myself to not downplay the lineart when I start into coloring.  I have a tendency to want to shift into painting and rendering, which is cool, but not when my intended style is lineart heavy.  haha.  Anyhoo, I hope you like this mystery elf!

Ooh, I'm also curious about if you have a preference for which version.  I really can't decide!

His work is soooo inspiring! I love it so much! I've also stumbled into Italian Nouveau as well and OMG, it is incredible. It makes me think of elves!

Mollsie

Definitely the purple toned one, it gives the colors a lot more depth and interest! I absolutely LOVE this illustration by the way, it feels like your rendering has improved greatly and the level of detail in this feels just right! Do you think you'll color the background? It feels a bit unfinished with the sketchy background, though it still looks really great!

cindymon

She looks stunning! The purple one is my favorite but the red eyes goes really well with the black too.. I can totally understand the indecisiveness! The lines are amazing too!

Rose Miller

she looks literally amazing 😍😍

Sabrina College

I like the purple one a bit more. 😃 But a like the whole artwork very much! The art nouveau style look soooo good and fit so great. Especially with the textured lines. Is this the chalk brush in procreate or do you use your ChrissaMessyInk or the Teague‘s folly in clipStudio?

chrissabug

Thank you so much! Yeah, I can see how it might make it look kind of unfinished. I did try a few things with coloring the background and kept thinking I liked uncolored better. If anything I may just add a mostly light flat tone

Her clothes and hair have a spectacular tekxture

Mollsie

I love how it turned out! Nice job, it feels very cohesive and more finished now 😊 Great work!

Satoji

I absolutely love how the lines are very different widths and swirling in all directions! It’s so dynamic! It’s hard to pick a favourite because they are all gorgeous but the black one has quite some charm!

Lia Graf

This is...all the words I could use seem so trite...your skill has leaps and bounds, wonderfully done!

chrissabug

Thank you so much! Yeah there was something about the black one that was kind of appealing to me, which owls why it was so hard to choose!
