Reclining peacefully, her hair flows around her like gentle waves. Mist blinks open her crimson eyes and as they meet yours, a smirk tugs at the corner of her mouth beckoning you closer..

Holy guacamole!! It has been AGES since I've drawn Mist! Or at least it feels that way. My poor water nymph has been so neglected! It is fun to draw her and see her again and how she has morphed as my style has changed since the last time I drew her!

For those of you who haven't been here long enough to know about Mist, she is my main original character. She is a water nymph who has lived her entire life deep in the forest in her forest lagoon. She is ageless and has existed ever since the birth of her lagoon.

But over time, something is happening to the forest; it is slowly dying and drying up. One by one, her sister nymphs vanish until she is the only one left. Then, her lagoon dries up. A water nymph can't survive without a body of water to call their home, so she must venture away from the only place she has ever known. Starting a quest to find a new place to call home, and of course discovering the world, romance, friends, adventure, and trechery along the way.

Aaaanyway, I have a whole story in mind around her and my goal was to eventually write that story into a novel with illustrations. I still would love to do that BUT I have never made any progress on it (to be fair, things have been very busy over the past few years!).

 My new short-term goal is to put the idea of a novel out of my mind for now and instead just get back into free creative writing for the fun of it, and see where it leads. It's been a long time since I wrote any creative writing that was substantial (other than the little captions I put with my artworks).

Anyhoo, I hope you guys like her and enjoy seeing her again!
