I need your feedback in regards to the soft Spicy Content (Patreon)
Content
Nothing is changing right away, but I wanna brain dump some ideas regarding how we do the soft NSFW content around here.
With payment processors coming down hard on platforms like Gumroad and Patreon over 18+ content, I'm getting a bit nervous about the future of this patreon page. I don't know what policies Patreon might implement. HOPEFULLY they don't go the route of gumroad and completely ban NSFW content, but you never know. At the very least, this page does already get hidden from the search and we don't get the latest features when they are released.
SO I wanted to run some ideas by you. I know that a lot of you enjoy the soft spicy variations, I do too! AND the Spicy Print Guild is the MOST POPULAR happy mail tier. So I'm really reluctant to just say goodbye to spicy art. In my opinion, the NSFW art I make is so mild that it barely qualifies as NSFW but according to Patreon ANY nudity is considered 18+.
I have an idea to move all of the NSFW DIGITAL art rewards to a password protected page on my own website that you guys could access via the same password that you use to access the secret shop. On that page, I would also include a preview of the month's spicy print. That way we could basically keep the same rewards under the surface, but none of the NSFW content would be here on the patreon platform. Once all of the NSFW content is not on patreon, I would request them to review my page and see if I can get it switched to a SFW page since there technically wouldn't be an spicy work on here.
It's a bit of a pain since you have to go to my website, similar to how you have to for the Secret Shop, but other than that it might be fine? I need to move all of the art packs off of gumroad and onto my own website anyway to comply with their NSFW policies (they are still sneakily up on gumroad right now, so make sure to grab them while you can!)
We would also need to probably rename the Spicy guild to something like... "Secret Guild"... Something that is vague for patreon, but clear enough for people pledging? (I'm open to other name ideas)
My only concern is trying to be clear enough about what the "secret guild" and the "secret (cough)SPICY(cough) Print" entails., but not so obvious that we get flagged by patreon. I'm open to ideas.
Having the soft spicy stuff not on this platform would also benefit those who don't care for it... so they can just not open the secret gallery if they aren't interested.
ANYWAY, there's no immediate change but its something that's been brewing in my mind since the gumroad fiasco. I've been building this patreon page for 9 years and we have so much art, growth and resources here that it would just suck if patreon decided to someday nuke it because of some super mild NSFW art.
Once I figure out some sort of solution, this post will disappear, but for now I want to hear your guys' thoughts and ideas on the matter.
