Hey! I have some bad news, and some good news, but then some more bad news, and then some more good news. Welcome to a regular Status Update. 🛰️

Game Patch & Expansion Pack Incoming [June 2nd / June 5th]

Not only a game patch is incoming, but a whole new expansion pack is too. The next game patch will be released on June 2nd and only a few days later, on June 5th, the Eco Living expansion pack is coming too.

I'm super excited to see the new content, especially in the patch. We're getting refined bills system, improved inventory system, unconstrained placing of windows and doors, firefighter NPCs, garbage man NPCs, proper repo man NPCs, neighborhood district improvements. And although the expansion pack might have given us questionable first impressions, it's pretty interesting and it affects the entire game, as well as extends functionality of other expansions. Things are looking pretty good.

Unfortunately, there's a cost associated with this.

Mods Incompatibility After Game Patch

It looks like the next patch might potentially have a greatly negative effect on existing mods, causing them to become incompatible. It's no news that game patches break mods and this one will be no different. There is no way to know how impactful it will be, so the best you can do is avoid updating.

• Disable Automatic Game Updates in Origin and Go Offline

In Origin, by going to Application Settings, you can disable automatic updates and then use the 'Go Offline' button to avoid Origin connecting to the internet. Turning the game on will download the patch unless you're in Offline Mode.

Hopefully most of the mods you're using will be updated before June 5th and you can play with the new expansion pack, if you decide to get it.

I will be waiting for the patch and get to updating WickedWhims right away, even though...

June Break

I'm not going to release a proper update in June, that's because I simply don't think I have enough content to do so. The month of June will be free of charge, you can stay and you won't have to pay for it. This will let me catch up and get something proper ready. Meanwhile, I hope you will have fun with the new game patch and expansion pack.

That said, I will release a compatibility update after the June 2nd patch as soon as possible. Additionally, I'm hoping to release a special themed updated in June that will feature something unusual. I wonder if it will be received well.
