Hi guys! The infant patch is coming tomorrow and I am here to to remind you to prepare your mods folder for the infant patch.😊

This patch is likely going to break a lot of mods😨, my Childbirth mod, toddler changing table and toddler crib will for sure break, and my other toddler stuff might break as well.

If you want to enjoy the patch (the new infant stage) immediately, I recommend you to remove all your mods before playing with the patch. Do you HAVE to remove all your mods? No, because I can't force you to do anything, but if you see weird glitches in game after the patch you should know it's likely caused by mods. 😥

Question 1: 🤔What does it mean to remove all your mods?

🟣 it means to move all your mods to a temporary location outside of your Mods folder, and play the game without any mods until the mod creator has either cleared their mod as unaffected by the patch, in which case you can put the mod back. Or wait till the creator to release an update, and you will need to download the new update and delete the old files you have.

Question 2: 🧐What happens when I play my game without any mods after getting the infant patch?

🟣 If you play with infant patch without any mods using the same save, you will be able to enjoy the game fully without worrying about your game breaking. However this means any moded features or objects you previously had will disappear from your game. For example, if you have my toddler stuff laid out on your lot, playing without mods will cause these objects to disappear and get replace with a random object.

If you have my childbirth mod and your sim had ultrasound scans, their ultrasound photo will disappear forever. The game will forget everything related to the childbirth mod, including who their birth partner is, whether they have given birth before, etc.

Question 3: 😥What if I don't want the modded features and objects to disappear forever?

🟣 The only way to do that while still be able to play with the infant patch is to remove all your mods and start a new save (do not delete your old save), and stay in that save until all your mods have been updated or cleared before moving back to your old save. You can start a new save in the main menu, and starting a new save basically means you are starting a brand new world, you will not have any of your old families or sims in there, but you will be able to play the infant patch using a new family without affecting your old save.

I hope this post help those of you who are unfamiliar with patches. And let me know if you have any questions.

if you wanna play in your current save, load into your game and click esc + save as to make a duplicate save. then you can make a mod free version of your save!

also don’t worry about your custom content. mods? yes, but cc likely have little to no conflict.

Anonymous

CC can break as well, especially build/buy content which can impact functions badly in the game depending on what's changed (like HSY pack and CC beds). Usually when CAS stuff breaks, its normally just visual or doesn't work at all, thankfully. But with a patch like this involving a new lifestage, everything should be considered as possibly breaking in some way, especially default replacements.

thought its coming out the 16th

the patch and base game update comes out the 14th. The Growing Together Pack the 16th. Take every mod and CC out to be safe - there will be a lot of changes. And back up your saves.

ok so do you know what we all get in the update tomorrow and I plan on deleting mods tonight after deleting my games and moving my mods into another folder until the update but delete the basemental and these mods from panda and remove cc until the updates patches.

Anonymous

ok but do you know if they coming out anything tomorrow for the infants//?

Kenny

Nooo! not my special eyes!! My default eyes!

in my opinion, i would take what’s coming in the update/ep into consideration. for me, i took out all my cas, gameplay, and tunning mods in general but left my cas cc. maybe you might wanna trade out your custom skins and eyes for non defaults. who knows, it might take a little bit of trouble shooting

Hello. I just started using your chilbirth mod last week. I know. I have a nice timing sense :P When you say birth partner, you mean the father of the child? Because, I was in doubt during the pregnacy who, from two sims, was the father, but with a cheat, I added both to the family just before childbirth. I had invited one of them to accompany the mother, and when they were at the hospital, the mother phoned the other one to be in the hospital too and he also came and stayed. well, his worried whims made me believe that second one was the father after all. All worried and suffering for seeing the mother suffering. (And by the way, I loved the swaying part.) Well, during labour the one that was invited first, was the one near the mother helping, and afterwards, the girl that was born, is identified as his (the first one) daughter. And not the worrisome guy's daughter. So, being a birth partner had influence in who the biological father became? The wory guy couldn't care less about the baby afterwards, and I that was considering a multiple person relationship, decided otherwise :D But could he have been the father and stoped being after the birth for some weird game reason or because of the mod? TIA

And I hope it's easy for you to update the mod after the patch!

Birth partners can be any YA to Elder sim i believe and has no impact on the parenthood

So the Childbirth mod surprisingly worked fine for me just now! I had a sim pregnant in preparation for the update and the pie menu options are still there, the options in the phone, and she just had an unassisted birth complete with the moodlets!

No idea, I'm just saying I updated my game and was still able to use the mod 🤷‍♀️
