Weekly Update - Child Birth Mod WIP (Patreon)

Hi Guys Happy New year!! 😍

It's crazy 2021 has come to an end, it really seems like time is just flying by.

This last two years has been so crazy, I don't think anyone would've guessed the pandemic would lasted this long and is still going with no clear end in sight😞 I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy, and are making the most of what we have. ❤️

I have grown so much in this past year as a person and as a Modder. I've learned so much and met so many amazing people in the sims4 community, Im thankful for each and every one of you who has helped me to become who I am today. 🥰 Without your support I would never have the courage to quit my job and pursue what truly makes me happy. 

I have been continuing to work on the child birth mod for the last two weeks.👼👼🏻👼🏼👼🏽👼🏾👼🏿 I created a draft animation which you can see in the images above. Draft animation is animation that captures the overall movement but still needs to be worked on further to add things like details and facial expressions. 

this animation is of course for natural birth, the goal right now is to finish natural birth then add the option for c section so that you can choose which one to go for. If everything goes well I want to make it so that sims can give birth at home, or do  water birth as well. 

I read all of your comments and suggestions in my last Weekly update, so thank you all who commented! I am taking all your good suggestions into consideration.♥️

For natural birth I definitely want the pregnant sim to be in the hospital for longer than it does right now. Ideally the sim will arrive at the hospital and go into Early labor, which will last anywhere from a few hours to days. During this process I want to make it so that doctors will check on the sim periodically and check for dilation. sims can do things such as sitting on a yoga ball to help speed up the process, 💬if you have any suggestions on what else they can do to help induce labour please leave a comment!  Once they are in active labour they will lay on the bed at which point the draft animation I made will come into play. I know she is wearing bathing suit in the image I posted , but I will be creating a new hospital gown so that the lower half of the sim is exposed during labor.(also I apologize for the image quality, I'm currently modding on a potato 🥔since Im visiting my parents for the holidays) 

the doctor 🧑‍⚕️ will stand near the end of the bed and help with the delivery, and any accompanying sim will stand next to the bed and hold the pregnant sim to encourage them. and yes there will be a baby coming out of your sim during birth 👀, but it will be blurred out by default,  if you  want the extra realism you can remove the blur with cheats. After the baby is born I want the birthing sim to be able to do skin to skin contact, and once that is done the baby will have to go into the bassinet to  live their life as an object 😐. 

The major challenge I have right now is finding a way to make sure the baby comes out of your sim with the right skin colour during labour and skin to skin, once its in the bassinet it will absolutely be the right colour. It is still a myth to me how the game knows what color the baby is supposed to be. I will spend some time to investigate it when I get there, if I really cannot figure it out the backup plan would be using the same baby for all sims which would be kind of lame 😕 but I will be trying my best to avoid that.
