Weekly Update - I sat the house on fire for science (Patreon)
Content
Hi all! I hope yous had a fantastic week and are looking forward to the weekend!
I have been working hard to complete the set and I can confirm the release date will be on Dec 15th. 📅
This week I posted a preview of the crib on both my patreon and twitter and Im very glad to see people are excited! However I noticed some player were hoping the Crib will keep toddlers locked in and that was not a feature I had when I released the preview; adults would come get the toddler autonomously as soon as they want to be let out. so I decided to spend some time and make it possible. Of course it turned out to be something simple in theory but almost impossible to implement. I spent 2 days investigating it and was finally able to come up with a solution.
There will be a option for child-adult sims to "Lock Crib" which will lock the toddler in and adult sims wont be able to take them out until its unlocked.
if you try to pick up the toddler when they are locked in the crib the sim will wave arm because they literally cannot get to the toddler.
and then...i had to test what happens if the house is on fire and whether an emergency situation will force the adult to pick up the toddler or will the crib literally be a death trap.
turns out...its neither situations.
Turns out the lock is effective even in emergency situations 😨 but the good news is toddlers are fire proof, so they wont die even if they are trapped. if a fire were to happen you can always unlock the crib or shift-click reset object to get the toddler out if you want to.
also I posted this on twitter because some one was wondering if toddlers can still use the bunny tablet if they are in the crib.
As it turns out they totally can, they can also eat and drink as well.
I also finished the toy car track thingy, up to two toddlers sims can play with it at the same time, here's a little preview of one of the moodlets.
and now im working on the last object which ive decided is functional playdough, its still in early ish stage.
and its slightly too big lol I will need to edit that
the play dough blob is too big as well, i assure you it will look better when its released lol.
toddlers will be able to mold the play dough like adults molding the clay blob, and they will will be able to create a decorative piece in the end. Unlike the clay blob the playdough is a single use object and cannot be molded over and over.
I hope you guys are happy with what you see. I cant wait to share it with you all on the 15th!
