Hello everyone!

We recently stopped by Freiburg on our way back to Amsterdam from Switzerland, as I had heard so many good things about it. And wow, what a great city! It's a city with more than twice as many bikes as cars, which is a rarity for Germany.

I also met up with Ashton from Type Ashton (formerly The Black Forest Family) and they showed us around the city. This is a model that all European cities should be following!

Thanks so much for your support!

Enjoy!

I am British, and a public transport enthusiast. I entirely agree with your remarks about the quality of the public transport in Freiburg(D). It is worth noting that the city of Freiburg(D) was originally built by the aristocratic Zahringhen family. The same family built two Swiss cities, Fribourg and Berne. There is a clear family likeness between the three cities. But remember that the two Swiss cities did not have to be rebuilt after 1945! Berne has of course excellent public transport, including an extensive tram and light rail system. Fribourg(CH) is much smaller than Berne or Freiburg(D). It does not have trams, but like many smaller Swiss cities such as Lucerne, St Gallen and Winterthur it has battery-electric trolleybuses which can run on roads which have not been wired up.

Can anyone say what trade jobs are in need in the netherlands. Are they in need of plumbers, maybe electricians? I'll be choosing a trade job to study soon and I want to be able to find work in the netherlands.
