Hey everyone,

For the month of September, Nebula is offering "Lifetime Memberships" again. We're doing this instead of taking on external investors (which would result in VCs having control of the company) so that we can fund new originals, big improvements in the platform, and a big push to grow Nebula.

I just wanted to post it here in case anybody wanted to take advantage of it while its offered. I don't know when we'll do this again, but it won't be this cheap if we do:

Whether you support the channel through Patreon, or by signing up to Nebula, it's all fine by me. Either way, I really appreciate your support.

Thanks!

Jason

The Best Way to Support Nebula Creators - Lifetime Membership

https://go.nebula.tv/lifetime?ref=notjustbikes For a limited time, Nebula Lifetime Memberships are back. This isn't the best deal you can get: that would be an annual plan for $30/year. However if you want to support Nebula, the platform, the creators, and the content, then a Lifetime Membership might be the right choice for you. * forever, in this case, means as long as you and Nebula exist. The future is unknown, so you're risk-adverse, perhaps it's better to sign up for annual: https://go.nebula.tv/notjustbikes That being said, Nebula is doing well financially, we are independently owned and managed by the creators, we have no plans to be acquired by any other company, and we intend to honour this deal as long as possible, even through contracts with any future owner in the far-off future, if at all possible. I don't recall signing up for Nebula via any specific creator. By curiosity, does that mean my money is funding Nebula itself and Originals, and not its creators directly?

2023-09-13 17:42:21 It means that the part that would normally go to the creator goes into the general fund. This is then paid out in terms of watch time to every creator on the platform. Unfortunately it's not possible to have just your money go to just the creators you watch; it's watch time across all creators across the entire platform. So creators still get a cut of your subscription, it's just based on which creators on Nebula are the most-watched.

Keep fighting the good fight. Here in Bergen, Norway, the election just went to the right-wing party and several environmentally-unfriendly, car-friendly, climate-denying populist parties hell-bent on undoing years of city planning, including the wonderful light rail line through downtown that will make (would have made?) downtown far more pedestrian-friendly by removing lots of car streets and converted them to cobblestone streets with rails, opening them up to people. Hope it can still be salvaged, but either way it's frustrating how the older 'car people' keep throwing wrenches in the gears whenever politicians try to make cities more people-friendly. There's definitely a generation gap between the older generation who want to hold onto their car privilegues, and the younger people who want change. Either way, tragic result, but just goes to show that this movement is needed🧡. If anything it's encouraged me to up my NJB Patreon membership. Keep fighting the good fight, everyone.

How are you guys in Norway about protesting? The American approach to protesting seems to be "vote and beg harder!" Like we're all here to stroke their egos or something. Hope you guys are able to protest and save the light rail/tram.
