Okay having way too much fun with this dumbass project. Opened my smooth on silicone today… solid as a rock 😂🤣

Ran out to Joann fabrics and found a silicone kit for $18 or so. Just did my first pours and will be remolding them tomorrow morning 🤘😬

🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞 so far none are leaking but will see how it goes over night. Hopefully will have this video up Thursday

Does the smooth on have a use by date on it? If not, email the company and give them the batch no, they should send you a replacement. This happened for me twice and they replaced one which was past its use by date, and the other I lost, which was down to the room temp (it was in my outdoor garage over winter)

For future ref silicone does have a shelf life and can react to room temp in its A & B parts, if you can keep your bottles in a controllable environment, it should last. Also be aware that silicone can loose its oils, resulting in the molds becoming brittle or cracking, this might not be the case with melting filament (the liquid resins I use pull the oils out of silicone) but keep an eye on the heating and cooling periods during the molds lifespan.

Looks like those silicone molds came out ok, also like the look of those round and square tubs you made, it might be worth trying out some baby powder on the inside prior to adding the filament chips? You ideally want to use some kind of release agent that can withstand high temps, baby powder might be ok, but i know the wax spray release I've used for my demolding probably wouldn't work in this instance?
