Now suspecting John of knowing what's causing it. Or of causing it to be the towns hero so he can be the lord. Either way, thanks for the chapter

Ralph

Excellent chapter, I think that John might be the cause or know of it. The princess is coming closer to asking to become one with Ast.

Greg Szarko

Agreed. I'm curious as to who's responsible for this now. I have 4 ideas as to who: 1, John or something related. 2, new dungeon. 3, evil cultists that experiment on people (no evidence supporting this). 4, elvish kingdom in bid to start a war.

Kestril

Great chapter again, thanks. Only one grammar comment, when Silvia is fighting the lizard critter….”Its insides lighted up…” shouldn’t that be “lit up”?

I wouldn't say "no evidence" for experimenting, there was a full array of creatures from bears to rabbits. it could easily be testing done on different animals to find out how it affects them.

Could also be reference to those weird labs that arterios came across earlier

Darth Mole

I don’t think John is involved. He may be trying to take advantage of the situation but not the cause, at least my opinion. The black eyes make it seem similar to the poison and test sites though. Or some kind of other experiment. Or maybe some kind of creature/monster that acts like a parasite and is trying to spread itself.

Him being there ready to fight before anyone else seems to indicate he at least knew it was coming.

John Duncan

Ah come on at least give 2 crappies on Friday please

John Duncan

I think new dungeon but son took core and the beast are told to get it back maybe

Termac

Would you prefer to see Friday's chapter split into two shorter chapters, rather than kept as one?

Termac

John, the two problems with that theory is that no one in the town (say, Umbra, for example) detected an elevated concentration of mana, and I don't think dungeon cores can be stolen like you suggest. Still, maybe it's something adjacent to that. For example, maybe the Elven equivalent of the CIA gave John an artifact that would draw monsters from an unknown (except to them) dungeon toward it. Maybe it even has to be triggered manually.
